The season is in full swing with xmas lights & parties, big winter waves and deep explosions of color for early solstice sunsets. Xmas bulbs, twinkles and under the tree cuddles. I write with hawaiian xmas music playing and the smell of my dutch xmas bread baking in the oven while children throw wooden glider planes overhead. Between keiki windsurf sessions at Baby Beach, my december baby’s birthday parties and family walks in the jungle, life is full. It’s deep winter Hawaii. Jaws is breaking almost weekly and a cool damp has returned to Haiku. The Humpbacks are back in town and so is Santa. Windsurfing seems to be becoming a distant memory for me, though there has been a few epic moments. I’m surfed out and happy…. My paddling arms are in a state of recovery. It fun to roam like a tourist through places like Makawao and Lahaina and check out all the goods and crafts from local artist. Full moons and early dark skies, star dusted nights. Even some pouring rain windsurf sessions and quick drives home for a hot shower and warming yourself up over a steaming cup of tea…
